Our advice
- We would keep the starter car until your first flip sells. One player guide says to sell it early, but no source shows what it sells for, so you cannot tell whether the cash is worth giving up your only working car.
- Skip auction garages until you have spare cash. They give a random car, from bad to very rare, while a junkyard car shows its damaged parts and market value before you pay.
How to Make Money in Mechanic Legends, step by step
-
Step 1: one player guide says the Wrench Work group gives 5,000 for joining. Illustration by MechanicLegends.org Claim the group reward first
Join the Wrench Work group on Roblox before anything else. One player guide says joining gives 5,000 for free. This is a single player report as of the October 29, 2026 update, so check that the money shows up after you join.
-
Step 2: customer jobs with more tasks pay more. One player guide took a job that paid $1,900. Illustration by MechanicLegends.org Take customer jobs
With a customer job, you fix a car that belongs to someone else and get a fixed fee for it. Jobs with more tasks pay more but are harder. One player guide accepted a job to repair the intake manifold and wiring that paid $1,900.
-
Step 3: one player guide sold a repaired junkyard car for $10,700, about $6,700 more than it cost. Illustration by MechanicLegends.org Flip junkyard cars to the used car dealer
At the junkyard, hold E on a car to see its damaged parts, condition, estimated repairs and market value. Buy one whose market value is well above the price and that needs only a couple of parts. Repair it in your garage, then sell it to the used car dealer. One player guide sold a repaired junkyard car for $10,700, about $6,700 more than it cost.
-
Step 4: polish worn parts instead of buying new ones, and strip the paint only when the car is ready to sell. Illustration by MechanicLegends.org Stop wasting cash on parts and paint
Clean and polish rusty or worn parts back to 100% instead of buying new ones. Save the parts store for parts that are scrapped. Stripping paint at the paint shop costs money, so we would leave it until the car is repaired and ready to sell.
Where people get stuck
You buy a junkyard car that needs too many parts
Hold E before you buy and count the damaged parts. One player guide says scrapped parts cannot be polished back, so each one means a new part from the parts store and a smaller margin.
You strip the paint too early
Stripping paint costs money. We would finish the repairs first and strip and paint the car last, right before you take it to the used car dealer.
You buy a new part that could have been polished
Put rusty or worn parts through the ultrasonic cleaner and the part polisher first. They come back to 100%, so the parts store is only for parts that are scrapped.
How do you make money fast in Mechanic Legends?
As of the October 29, 2026 update, Mechanic Legends has two main ways to earn: customer jobs and flipping junkyard cars. On top of that, one player guide says the Wrench Work group gives a one-time reward for joining. There are no codes for free money yet; our Mechanic Legends codes page tracks that every day.
These are the payouts player videos have shown so far:
| Method | Payout shown | Source status |
|---|---|---|
| Join the Wrench Work group | 5,000 | Reported (one player guide) |
| Customer job (intake manifold and wiring) | $1,900 | Reported (one player guide) |
| Flip a repaired junkyard car | Sold for $10,700, about $6,700 profit | Reported (one player guide) |
Each of these numbers comes from a single player video. We will mark them confirmed once a second video shows the same thing.
New to the game? Start with our Mechanic Legends guide for the first five things to do.
Customer jobs
You accept a job to repair someone else’s car for a set payment. Jobs with more tasks pay more but are harder. The repair itself works the same way as on your own cars: drive onto the lift in your garage, raise it, open the hood and hold the wrench to see which parts are damaged.
You do not have to buy the car first, so we expect customer jobs to be the safer start while you build cash for your first junkyard car.
Is flipping cars worth it?
Flipping looks like the bigger earner, as long as you pick the right car. The junkyard lets you hold E on a car to see its damaged parts, condition, estimated repairs and market value before you buy. Player guides advise comparing the market value with the price and the number of damaged parts. A car that needs only a couple of parts can sell for much more than it cost.
The flip loop goes like this:
- Buy a damaged car at the junkyard.
- Repair it in your garage. Clean and polish worn parts, and buy new ones only for scrapped parts.
- Strip the paint at the paint shop to remove rust, then repaint it in the paint booth.
- Sell it to the used car dealer, who offers a price for the car.
You do not have to sell. You can keep a repaired car and drive it instead.
Auction garages
At the auction house you can open a garage that gives a random car, from bad to very rare. An auction garage costs 65K in-game Cash. The Robux store also lists Open a Regular Garage and Open a Premium Garage, but it does not say whether either one is the auction garage. You do not see the car before you pay, so it is a gamble, not a steady way to earn.
Should you sell the starter car?
One player guide recommends selling the starter car early for cash, saying it is not very good. No source we have shows how much the starter car sells for, so we cannot say whether the cash is worth it. We would keep the starter car until your first flip sells.
What wastes money
- Buying parts you could polish. Rusty or worn parts go back to 100% in the ultrasonic cleaner and the part polisher.
- Buying cars with long repair lists. One player guide says scrapped parts cannot be polished back, so each one means a new part from the parts store.
- Stripping paint too early. Stripping costs money. We would do it last, right before you sell.
- Tuning before you have spare cash. One creator showed stage one and stage two ECU tunes, and the stage one tune on one car cost 13K. Not every part fits every engine either, so check before you buy an engine swap.
